THINGS TO COME

I am asked in private correspondence, "Why won't you BLOG, dammit?" by an individual who has posted thrice in the last month, but will otherwise remain anonymous.

Three reasons:

-I'm right now enjoying one of the busiest work days I've ever had at my current job.
-I have nothing in particular to say that would justify carving out time from this particularly busy day.
-I'm planning something very exciting for the weekend.

Okay, that last is a promise rather than an excuse, but isn't an occasional post of extreme brilliance better than daily ruminations about how the Mid-East = t3h suxx0rs? And it's only "exciting" to those of you who have previously enjoyed my film scholar-blogging, but for all of you, I have two words: montage theory.

In the meantime, a propos of metablogging, I present a dreary piece from the increasingly dreary Slate about how all bloggers is wankers.

  1. Wasn't me.

But I have missed some of your ruminations. At least on cinema, since we got almost daily film reviews last month.

Meaning... I'm pumped for this weekend.

    Better be good.

  2. It is shocking to me that somebody who blogs so little would make such demands of you! How on earth could people have such massive expectations, knowing as they do that you are gainfully employed?

Also, I hope I'm right in what i suspect the "very exciting" weekend entails.

  3. Upon a second, actually attentive reading, I realize that montage theory likely has little to do with Liberality for All, and am shamed and saddened.

Just a few rules so that everybody can have fun: ad hominem attacks on the blogger are fair; ad hominem attacks on other commenters will be deleted. And I will absolutely not stand for anything that is, in my judgment, demeaning, insulting or hateful to any gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or religion. And though I won't insist on keeping politics out, let's think long and hard before we say anything particularly inflammatory.

Also, sorry about the whole "must be a registered user" thing, but I do deeply hate to get spam, and I refuse to take on the totalitarian mantle of moderating comments, and I am much too lazy to try to migrate over to a better comments system than the one that comes pre-loaded with Blogger.
