BLOG ROLLIN'
A much-overdue scrubbing and update of the ol' blogroll is coming in the next week or so, and I've decided to send out an open call: anyone out there who wants a spot can have it, with the single rule that I'll only extend the invitation to anyone who adds me to their own blogroll. I've been meaning to find some new reading material, and I figured, where better to start with than with my own readers?
Interested parties may either leave your URL and blog name in comments, or e-mail me at antagonyecstasy@yahoo.com.
(I'm going to keep re-dating this post to keep it at the top)

Just a few rules so that everybody can have fun: ad hominem attacks on the blogger are fair; ad hominem attacks on other commenters will be deleted. And I will absolutely not stand for anything that is, in my judgment, demeaning, insulting or hateful to any gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or religion. And though I won't insist on keeping politics out, let's think long and hard before we say anything particularly inflammatory.
Also, sorry about the whole "must be a registered user" thing, but I do deeply hate to get spam, and I refuse to take on the totalitarian mantle of moderating comments, and I am much too lazy to try to migrate over to a better comments system than the one that comes pre-loaded with Blogger.
I don't really have a blog and my reviews are mostly in spanish but I sure would be interested if you could post a poll on which filmmaker's filmography you could review after Mann's. My vote is for Michael Haneke. Think what you will but the man inspired a blog-a-thon for crying out loud.

Tim:
ReplyDeleteI read you every day, and already have a link to A&E on my site. I would adore a reciprocal link from one of my favorite film writers on the Interwebs.

I second "The Caustic Ignostic" (nice pseudonym by the way), who like him (who has a great blog, by the way) already have you on the blogroll. I would find it pretty amazing to find a link to my site on here.

Thanks.
I just started my blog and I've only recently gotten into updating regularly, but if it meets with your approval my blog is herrmachine.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteAnd then maybe you can answer my email. Yes or no would be helpful. :-p :-)
ReplyDeleteTim answers emails? Just kidding. Ok, here's my little experiment, which starts with an "a" and I assume will appear at the top. You know, kind of like when Linkin Park named their band to appear next to Limp Bizkit. http://artauddoublebill.blogspot.com/ Now I won't just bore people from myspace with reviews, but the world!
ReplyDeleteI'd be honored to have my blog on your blogroll -- your blog is one of my go-to places for reviews on everything and it's only gotten better over the last couple of years.
ReplyDeleteI've had your blog on my blogroll from the beginning, so that criteria should be met.
Should be fun to check out all of the people who get linked via your site as well...way to grow the blogosphere Tim.

My blog is not a movie blog (it has no focus as of yet, but will probably inevitably be mostly about music) and is about two weeks old and has only one or two posts of much substance and is fairly hideous. But here it is anyway, because what the hell: http://scintillantwinds.blogspot.com/ (I already have you blogrolled).
ReplyDeletea & e has been blogrolled at stump lane (http://www.stumplane.us/blog/) for some time. my site has almost nothing to do with the movies, so i don't know how appropriate a link here would be.
ReplyDeleteWell, since it's an open call....
ReplyDeleteI've been trying to get in the habit of updating my music review blog, Your Favorite Band Sucks, more regularly, and maybe having more potential readers will do that? Because right now it's probably like 5 of my friends.

I'd also like to humbly request your forgiveness for stealing your poster-alignment idea after my brother told me he wasn't sure if I was recommending an album. After re-reading my review, I still thought it was fairly obvious, but I decided to implement this idea because then I wouldn't have to resort to the dreaded "score." Hey, it's a good idea!
I'm making a chronicle of an independent feature I will shoot: http://propagandafilmdiary.blogspot.com/ This will take quite a while, so paradoxically it should have a longer life span than the other one, so pick one I you are so inclined.
ReplyDeleteI quite enjoyed your Michael Mann-related posts. I am a big fan of his films and have added your blog to my blogroll and would appreciate if you would add mine to yours. My blog is:

In addition, I am doing a Mann blogathon the week that PUBLIC ENEMIES comes out. If you interested, you can contribute and I'll link up the Mann-related posts you already have. The deets are here:

I am wildly enthusiastic about the blogroll...though I confess to not having all the ins & outs of blogging down. Therefore, bear with me while I continue working on my knowledge.
ReplyDeleteI write about movies both new and old. I love Ford, Hitchcock, Kurosawa, and have rediscovered Fellini and Herzog (give him an Oscar NOW!!!) I add my blog to the list:

Now, if anyone can offer tips for me to make it a better site, I sure would appreciate it.
