THE OTHER BEST ANIMATION STUDIO IN THE WORLD

Caving in to popular demand (and the fact that I was planning on doing it before a single person asked me to), I'm kicking off a new series: today and every Tuesday for several weeks, I'm going to dig my way through the films of Studio Ghibli, not directed by Miyazaki Hayao. Because even if that one man is the company's public face and unarguably the most internationally significant director in their roster, you could argue without too much difficulty that they've never yet released a clunker, or even a modest disappointment. (Or at least, this is what I am going to assume, having not yet seen quite half of the films in question).

Wait, did I say, "Tuesday"? I meant "the early hours of Wednesday", at least this week. Stay tuned!

Just a few rules so that everybody can have fun: ad hominem attacks on the blogger are fair; ad hominem attacks on other commenters will be deleted. And I will absolutely not stand for anything that is, in my judgment, demeaning, insulting or hateful to any gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or religion. And though I won't insist on keeping politics out, let's think long and hard before we say anything particularly inflammatory.

Also, sorry about the whole "must be a registered user" thing, but I do deeply hate to get spam, and I refuse to take on the totalitarian mantle of moderating comments, and I am much too lazy to try to migrate over to a better comments system than the one that comes pre-loaded with Blogger.
