I will say, your review almost - almost - makes me second-guess some aspects of it that I didn't have much problems with (the dialogue, the aunt bit).

I was sort of expecting you to mention my one real issue with the film, I never really believe that these are highschoolers. That might dovetail in with your question of who the intended audience is, but these teens seem much to comfortable and airily hip to come off as per-collegiate children. But, that's cinema for you, I suppose. Though, ...I'm pretty much with you on this one. Though, I don't think you properly sold just how painful the groaner-lines are; this is the kind of dialogue that causes kidney failure. Thankfully, however, those lines become less frequent after the first half-hour or so. Also, I found it really hard to sympathize with Charlie's plight of having this really cute punk chick eating out of his hand while he's pining for Emmma Watson. When I was a freshman in high school, the only action I was getting was with "Lefty." It's a severe case of "I wish I had this guy's problems." Furthermore, it should be against the law for Tom Savini to appear in a PG-13 movie, that is sick and wrong. Paul Rudd was good as the English teacher, although I cannot say his character's name without doing a Hugo Weaving impression in my head. And about the whole "Heroes" thing: yeah, like, what the fuck? I almost wish it was "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey, because then it would've been hilarious instead of just odd.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18107667687751077093noreply@blogger.com
