Definitely not distinguished, and the obnoxious "Oh snap it's in 3D folks!" moments did the film no favors, but I thought it was reasonably enjoyable for what it was. Like you said, this film was Nice and unchallenging, but the acting was more-or-less solid throughout, and I'm starting to feel much more charitably towards Family Movies that aren't actively harmful (The Smurfs, Zookeeper, etc).Andrew Testermanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17636448677366233823noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14812333.post-89032231644482507402011-10-09T21:25:09.268-05:002011-10-09T21:25:09.268-05:00My latest attempt to get a comment through is to r...My latest attempt to get a comment through is to remind you there has been another dolphin movie, in which Elijah Wood is a boy who is having a hard time until he meets a dolphin.

(As I seem to be making progress, I will go ahead and tell Blogger that I found away around the nonsense and I win, so there).Rebeccahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06316541604903436175noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14812333.post-86116476395860008562011-10-09T14:07:52.809-05:002011-10-09T14:07:52.809-05:00First off, the title. Isn't the story of a noble, beautiful animal that regains the ability to swim and live through the concerted efforts of volunteers and scientists sufficiently heartwarming, without having to tack on a phenomenally trite story of a little boy being all sad and then happy? Apparently not."

Ugh, really? At least this doesn't sound as bad as the abysmal film based of the story of our local Cute Rescued Marine Mammal Andre the Seal. Starting with the fact that Andre is played by a *California Sea Lion*, which may not be as cute as a Gulf of Maine Harbor Seal, but you can teach him to make fart noises with his tongue, so... yeah.

And how does "Dolphin Tale" compare to "Free Willy"? Aside from the obvious fact that there is a happy ending in real life...Trishhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08108657342054862720noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14812333.post-61968088883957298342011-10-09T06:46:59.821-05:002011-10-09T06:46:59.821-05:00Bah.
