Right now, on the home page right at the top are three headlines. I've seen each individually, but putting them together really shines light on the man: 1. Bush on intelligent design: "Teach it in schools" 2. Bush on Rove: He has my "complete confidence." 3. Bush on Palmeiro: "I believe him."
How can he be wrong on EVERYTHING?
A fine question, and one that men and women much wiser than Phil or myself have remained unable to answer.
Also wanted to mention the front page article Astronauts To Repair Shuttle With Makeshift Hacksaw, whose headline is perhaps the worst possible summary of the article it links to. It did put me in mind, for whatever reason of a West Wing quote:
LEO: We spent millions of dollars developing a pen for the astronauts that would work in zero gravity. Know what the Russians did?
JOSH: Used a pencil?
LEO: They used a pencil.
the russians used a pencil story is probably my favorite spacerace annecdote, ever. but the russians didn't get tang or jello or a device for growing ovarian tumors so that tumors can be studied outside the body, without harm to the patient, did they?
ReplyDeleteyou will enjoy Other Notable Items (of a Religious Nature) Debunked by the Space Program, though they're kinda lumping a lot of progress made by the Physical Sciences (notably astronomy and material science) into their "space program benefits" list there.
That is one hell of a useful list
