TECHNOLOGY IS AN AWESOME THING
I don't usually complain about my personal life here - always seemed like a bit of a wankery thing to presume that everyone cares.
That said, I am currently sitting in a classroom (remember?), learning how to use iTunes and iPods. At the moment, we are in minute 15 of the lecturer patiently explaining to a roomful of fifty-year-olds why you can't have libraries from multiple computers on one iPod.
He just mentioned hacking the iPod. I really, really hoped that he would go into the hacks. But that would probably go afoul of some law or another.
Oh yay, he's moved on to playlists.
I. Hate. This. Fucking. Class.
Update 10:41 AM Apparently In The Future, journalists will be able to use iPods to record interviews. It will be amazingly awesome for reporters to have an audio backup, so that they don't have to rely solely on their memory when writing stories. Why oh why aren't there small audio recorders now?
Also, the tech utopianist hopes that by 2020, journalists will be able to use the web to do things that was old news five years ago.

Just a few rules so that everybody can have fun: ad hominem attacks on the blogger are fair; ad hominem attacks on other commenters will be deleted. And I will absolutely not stand for anything that is, in my judgment, demeaning, insulting or hateful to any gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or religion. And though I won't insist on keeping politics out, let's think long and hard before we say anything particularly inflammatory.
Also, sorry about the whole "must be a registered user" thing, but I do deeply hate to get spam, and I refuse to take on the totalitarian mantle of moderating comments, and I am much too lazy to try to migrate over to a better comments system than the one that comes pre-loaded with Blogger.
what kind of things that were old news 5 years ago?
ReplyDeletethe thought of you sitting in that class fills me with (shameful) glee. at the same time, i am so, so sorry.
