I'M A BAD BLOGGER, BUT AT LEAST I'M NOT A PATHOLOGICAL LIAR

Sorry for the total lack of posting yesterday - morning doctor appointment, afternoon seminar, evening movie. I will try not to let it happen again.

So, I'm going to post this right now before I find out that everyone else did the same thing last night:
"I have never painted a rosy picture. I have been very measured in my words, and you’d have a dickens of a time trying to find instances where I have been excessively optimistic. I understand this is tough stuff." -Donald Rumsfeld, 8/3/2006
Can you guess where I'm going with this? Of course you can!
"The extremists have seen the changes that have taken place here, they know well that a peaceful, a prosperous and a representative Iraq is a strategic defeat for them and for their vicious ideology." -Donald Rumsfeld, 7/12/2006
"If you think about the insurgency, they don't have any vision. There's no Ho Chi Minh, there's no Mao...they are foreigners trying to impose their will against an elected government and they are going to lose it." -Donald Rumsfeld, 6/26/2005
"We don't have an exit strategy, we have a victory strategy." -Donald Rumsfeld, 4/12/2005
"The enemy sought to test America and the Iraqi people’s will, and they found it firm." -Donald Rumsfeld, 3/18/2005
"It is unknowable how long that conflict will last. It could last six days, six weeks. I doubt six months." -Donald Rumsfeld, 2/7/2003

Just a few rules so that everybody can have fun: ad hominem attacks on the blogger are fair; ad hominem attacks on other commenters will be deleted. And I will absolutely not stand for anything that is, in my judgment, demeaning, insulting or hateful to any gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or religion. And though I won't insist on keeping politics out, let's think long and hard before we say anything particularly inflammatory.

Also, sorry about the whole "must be a registered user" thing, but I do deeply hate to get spam, and I refuse to take on the totalitarian mantle of moderating comments, and I am much too lazy to try to migrate over to a better comments system than the one that comes pre-loaded with Blogger.
