DISNEY STATS
It was pretty obvious, I think, that this project found me slightly too ready to run off at the keyboard. Just so we all know exactly what that entails, here's the final tally for the Disneython at Antagony & Ecstasy: 166,509 words. That translates to 665 manuscript pages, assuming an average of 250 words per page, and no illustrations. Think on that before you encourage me to turn these into a book.
For the really morbidly curious, a word count for each essay follows the jump. Hyperlinks are to the reviews. See also here.

Just a few rules so that everybody can have fun: ad hominem attacks on the blogger are fair; ad hominem attacks on other commenters will be deleted. And I will absolutely not stand for anything that is, in my judgment, demeaning, insulting or hateful to any gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or religion. And though I won't insist on keeping politics out, let's think long and hard before we say anything particularly inflammatory.
Also, sorry about the whole "must be a registered user" thing, but I do deeply hate to get spam, and I refuse to take on the totalitarian mantle of moderating comments, and I am much too lazy to try to migrate over to a better comments system than the one that comes pre-loaded with Blogger.
Oh no you don't. I still fully expect to hold all of these in my hands (in hardcover) someday.
ReplyDeleteis it really that long? reading all of those didn't FEEL like reading a 500 page book.
ReplyDeleteI would dearly love to have these reviews in book form. I am now re-reading the Disney articles and enjoying them even more than the first time around. :)
ReplyDeleteWell thanks! And I have some book-related notions that are not remotely firm enough to start talking about in public just yet.
