CARRY ON CARRYING ON

I must say, a fella puts out a call to action and you, my wonderful readers, do not disappoint. Seven weeks into the blog's fundraiser, and we're already up to $771, with seven full months yet to go.

Instead of setting another target which you'll just demolish in no time, I'm going to leave it open-ended: let's just raise as much money for the fight against cancer as possible. $1000? $1500? The sky, methinks, is the limit.

And, since it's the start of a month, I want to do some housekeeping. If you've donated, please go to the main fundraiser page, and check to make sure that your name is on the list. If not (or if it is, and you'd rather be anonymous), comment here and e-mail me, and I'll double-check my records. I'm still trying to figure out a way to verify that everybody donated the amount they think they did without a) being inefficient, and c) telling the whole wide world how much everybody donated right on the pages of this blog. But as stated elsewhere, it's incredibly important to me that this remains transparent.

Just a few rules so that everybody can have fun: ad hominem attacks on the blogger are fair; ad hominem attacks on other commenters will be deleted. And I will absolutely not stand for anything that is, in my judgment, demeaning, insulting or hateful to any gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or religion. And though I won't insist on keeping politics out, let's think long and hard before we say anything particularly inflammatory.

Also, sorry about the whole "must be a registered user" thing, but I do deeply hate to get spam, and I refuse to take on the totalitarian mantle of moderating comments, and I am much too lazy to try to migrate over to a better comments system than the one that comes pre-loaded with Blogger.
