THE BLOGGER IS OUT

Just a quick note so that everyone knows I'm not dead, though I'd kind of prefer it. I have been struck done with a real wicked flu, the kind that makes it take all my available energy just to write something short like this. But no fear, my review of Country Strong is hovering just in the future. Because I'm certain you can't wait to hear about that.

  1. "...my review of Country Strong is hovering..."

I smell a merciless takedown looming...

To honest, though, I'm more curious about Biutiful next week. One of the only foreign language performances ever nominated for Best Actor in a highly divisive film can't help but spur an interesting review.

  2. My sympathies, Tim. I had a particularly virulent strain of flu last year and it left me utterly debilitated.

Keep well, keep warm ... and a small drop of whisky for medical purposes is a perfectly acceptable recourse.

  3. I have been extremely fortunate in the last 2 years to have not gotten sick at all, but normally I get struck down with tonsillitis at least
3 or 4 times a year, so I completely sympathize with you. Get well soon, I looks forward to you destroying Country Strong.

  4. I certainly won't vouch for it being a terribly great take-down (still a bit wobbly and worn-out) but it's up, and thanks everybody in comments and in e-mail offering your well-wishes. Just one of those 24-hour things, nothing very traumatic.

Just a few rules so that everybody can have fun: ad hominem attacks on the blogger are fair; ad hominem attacks on other commenters will be deleted. And I will absolutely not stand for anything that is, in my judgment, demeaning, insulting or hateful to any gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or religion. And though I won't insist on keeping politics out, let's think long and hard before we say anything particularly inflammatory.

Also, sorry about the whole "must be a registered user" thing, but I do deeply hate to get spam, and I refuse to take on the totalitarian mantle of moderating comments, and I am much too lazy to try to migrate over to a better comments system than the one that comes pre-loaded with Blogger.
